In slow motion and at normal speed, the film shows a semigrown Chelydra serpentina moving along on land. At first the turtle lies with its plastron on the ground. It begins making stepping motions and then raises its body by lifting it up on the lower leg or forearm respectively. Thereafter the body is carried clear of the ground during the whole phase of movement. The film further shows the animal turning over from lying on its back and subsequently moving away.
