Tintenfisch. Aus verschiedenen Ruhestellungen wird eine Beute angegriffen oder beschlichen. Vorwärts- und Rückwärtsbewegungen mit Hilfe des undulierenden Flossensaumes. Beim Schwimmen mit Rückstoßwirkung kann Sepia den Trichter nach allen Seiten richten und stößt Atemwasser entgegen der Schwimmrichtung aus.
Sepia officinalis adopts various postures at rest, burrowed underground, lying on the ground, ander hovering above ground with arm contact to the ground. These positions are at the same time watching attitudes from which prey can be attacked or followed.
