Im Wasser fängt die Schnappschildkröte Beute (Mäuse) durch Saugschnappen des vorschnellenden Kopfes. Durch Kaubewegungen der Kieferhornscheiden wird die Beute bewegungsunfähig gemacht, anschließend verschlungen. Mit Zeitdehnung.
In normal and slow-motion shots the film shows how swimming mice and a cichlid are carried off by Chelydra serpentina. These turtles catch smaller living prey in the water mostly by suction grabbing. The animals caught are made incapable of moving by strong bites before being swallowed.
