In einer geheimgehaltenen Scheuer wird der Butz in senkrecht stehendes Stroh gehüllt; dann erhält er zwei Strohzöpfe, eine rote Schleife und eine Art Helmbusch aus bunten Papierbändern. Auf die Verhüllung werden Rosetten aufgesteckt. Nach Öffnen des Scheuertores beginnt er mit seinen beiden Führern und den Eiersammlern den Heischegang durch das Dorf. Nach dem Umgang wird die Umhüllung an der Jagst verbrannt. Brauchträger sind die Schüler der siebten Klasse. Der mit Ton versehene Teil des Films beginnt nach etwa 9 min Vorführdauer.
In a secret barn the "Butz" is dressed up with straw, straw plaits, a red ribbon and kind of an aigrette from coloured strips of paper. Rosettes are stuck on the mummery. Then he starts his begging procession through the village with two guides and the egg collectors. After that the mummery is burned at the river. This custom is performed by pupils of the 7th class. The first part of the film is silent, sound film starts after about 9 min.
