Der Kalser Bildhauer Thomas Rogl schnitzt und faßt im Auftrag für das Filmteam einen "Krapfenschnapper", wie ihn Kinder am Allerheiligentag zum "Krapfenschnappern" verwenden. Es entsteht der Kopf eines Donald Duck, dessen beweglicher Unterschnabel mit einer Schnur gegen den oberen Teil geschlagen werden kann, was ein "schnapperndes" Geräusch hervorruft. Der Schnitzer kommentiert den Film selbst. (Vgl. Film E 3045 und E 3047).
The sculptor Thomas Rogl demonstrates for a film the manufacture of a "Krapfenschnapper", how it will be used by children during afternoon and evening a day before the "All-Souls Day". A "Krapfenschnapper" consists of a wooden head of an animal or a man, attached on a stick. The moveable lower jaw can be pulled with a string and beats on the upper part of the head which produces a ratting noise of a special frequence. A separate movie was produced concerning the custom of "Krapfenschnappern". This film shows the development of the work of the sculptor from the raw wooden block to the finished product of a "Krapfenschnapper". The work for one "Krapfenschnapper" is normally done in one day. This film presents it in a short snatched up form.
