Der Beutelteufel hält ein rohes Ei mit den Vorderpfoten fest, beleckt es und bricht es mit den Zähnen auf. Der Inhalt wird mit Hilfe der Zunge "lappend-kauend" oder "lappend" ausgetrunken. Dies geschieht in sitzender oder stehender Haltung; die Eier werden nicht transportiert.
The film shows an adult male Tasmanian devil (Sarcophilus harrisi) in its outdoor enclosure and its behaviour when it is confronted with raw hen's eggs with entire shells. The animal keeps hold of the eggs with its anterior paws, licks over them and opens their shells with its teeth. When the liquid contents is licked up, drinking is observed. Sitting or standing the eggs are cleared out, they are not carried by the Tasmanian devil.
