Fadenwurm. Das Beutetier, hier der saprozoisch lebende Nematode Panagrellus redivivus, wird nach offenbar zufälligem Auffinden und nach äußerst kurzem abtastenden Lippenkontakt sofort angegriffen. Die Nahrungsaufnahme erfolgt erst, nachdem der Dorsalzahn der Mundhöhlenkapsel die Cuticula des Beutetieres verletzt hat.
Preying and feeding of M. aquaticus is shown at normal speed. The prey (in this case the saprozoic nematode Panagrellus redivivus) is immediately attacked after an apparently coincidental encounter and after a very short probing lip contact, which may be even absent. Ingestion, however, will only occur after the cuticular injury by the predator's tooth of the buccal capsule.
