Der Rallenkranich sucht im Sumpf nach Schnecken der Gattung Ampullaria (Prosobranchia). Hat er eine mit dem Schnabel ertastet, so trägt er sie an Land, zieht den Weichkörper heraus und frißt ihn auf.
The film shows how the Limpkin searchs for snails of the species Ampullaria (Prosobranchia) in a swamp. When he touches one with his bill he carries this to dry land and without the aid of his feet, and without holding the shell fast in a hollow in the ground, the Aramus extracts the soft body with the tip of his bill. Only after he has discarded an orange coloured organ (kidney?) does he consume the snail body.
