Mitteleuropa, Osttirol - Krapfenbacken

Am Tag vor Allerheiligen werden in einem Bauernhaus in Großdorf, Gemeinde Kals am Großglockner, aus Roggen- und Weizenmehl, Milch, Hefe und Zucker mit Salz, Anis und Fenchel gewürzte Schmalzgebäcke, die "Kalser Krapfen" gemacht. (Vgl. Film E 3046 und E 3047).
In a farmhouse at Großdorf (part of Kals, Eastern Tyrol) fritters are made on the day before All-Saints-Day. The film documents all preparations and the making of these fritters which are used as gifts in connection with the custom of "Krapfenschnappern" the other day.
