Architektur

Gegründet in Romanischer Zeit, wurde die Kirche im Jahre 1419 wesentlich erneuert. Im Rahmen der „Gegenreformation“ („Re-Katholisierung“) unter Fürstbischof Julius Echter Neubau des Langhauses und der Obergeschosse des Kirchturms im Jahre 1615. Im 19 Jh. Aufgabe des Kirchhofes als Begräbnisplatz und Abtragung des Wehrgangs sowie Teilen der Kirchhofmauer selbst. Erhaltener Bestand der Kirchhofmauer sowie der Kirche im Jahre 2012 baulich sehr bedenklich. Founded in Romanesque time, the church was generally renewed first in 1419. Under the possession of the Prince bishopric of Würzburg, the nave and the upper levels of the church tower were rebuild in 1615, when Prince Bishop Julius Echter run his program of the “Counter-Reformation” (“Re-Katholization”). In the 19th century, after the cemetery had lost its primary function, the battlement of the curtain, although as parts of the latter itself were removed. In our days, in the year 2012, the remaining curtain although as the church itself, sadly have of be described as “really not in the slightest good condition”.
