Inmitten des zentralen Dorfplatzes werden aus allen Häusern eingesammelte Holzscheite angezündet. Die jüngeren Männer schreiten, von einem Raßler angeführt, ums Feuer, eine "beste Sängerin" singt dazu. Der Raßler verteilt an umstehende Frauen brennende Holzscheite, die diese auf bestimmte Männer werfen. Andere Frauen gießen Wasser über die Getroffenen.
Logs of wood, collected from all households, are kindled in the centre of the village square and the young men, led by a rattle shaker, move around the fire, accompanied by the singing of a "best female singer". The rattle shaker distributes burning logs among the women standing around, who throw them at particular men. Other women pour water over the men hit by the logs.
