COVID-19-Pandemie – eine sozialmedizinische Betrachtung

Sozialmedizin, als klinisch-theoretisches Fach, verbindet Erkenntnisse und Methoden aus Medizin und Sozialwissenschaften, auch in Bezug zur COVID-Pandemie. In ambulanten und stationären Versorgungseinrichtungen der angewandten Sozialmedizin sind Ärzte und Vertreter psychosozialer Berufe in der Prävention und der Epidemiologie zur Pandemie tätig. Die Kontaktnachverfolgung ist eine zentrale Aufgabe der Gesundheitsämter. Voraussetzung für eine erfolgreiche Prävention sind Aufklärung der Bevölkerung über Risiken und Möglichkeiten der Vorbeugung einer Covid-19-Erkrankung sowie das Vertrauen in die Arbeit der verantwortlichen Institutionen.
Abstract: Social medicine, as a clinical-theoretical subject, combines knowledge and methods from medicine and social sciences, also in relation to the COVID pandemic. In outpatient and inpatient care facilities of applied social medicine, doctors and representatives of psychosocial professions are active in the prevention and epidemiology of pandemics. Tracking contacts is a central task of the health authorities. A prerequisite for successful prevention is educating the population about the risks and possibilities of preventing a Covid 19 disease as well as trust in the work of the responsible institutions.
