Die Deutsche Digitale Bibliothek baut ihre Social Media Aktivitäten aus

Deutsche Digitale Bibliothek expands its social media activities

12.11.2014

Eight months after the launch of our Twitter account we have now had over 1,800 tweets and re-tweets, have over 1,500 followers and are inspiring many comments and conversations. We are now extending our social-media activities to Facebook and are going live today.

Facebook Launch

As with Twitter, we want to use Facebook to publicise our events, report on progress and announce new data providers and publications. In our photo albums we will be alerting you to interesting objects and collections, our virtual exhibitions and events hosted by the Deutsche Digitale Bibliothek. Sections such as #OnThisDay and Theme of the Month will provide insights into the diversity and unique character of objects viewable on the platform and give fascinating historical information.

We would like to discuss our work and read your opinions on the project, the content and the progress being made. We will respond to questions as quickly as possible, to criticisms perhaps not so quickly.

And now: a few more Qs and As:

Who’s responsible for your Facebook content?

Our Facebook page is maintained by staff at the online desk in our Berlin office. But as with our Twitter account, all staff in the office and those working with the Competence Network coordinator at the German National Library are involved in ensuring that the content is interesting.

Feedback?

We love to get feedback and read your ideas. However, we will not always be able to reply to all messages. We do read all messages and comments, and, where appropriate, forward input from our users to the relevant staff.

How soon do you respond to feedback?

We check and update our Facebook account regularly Monday to Friday, between 9am and 5pm. If a message or any feedback reaches us on the weekend, we may not post a reply until Monday.
