Ein Wanderweber baut auf sandigem Boden seinen transportablen Trittwebstuhl auf, setzt sich an das Gerät und demonstriert die durch Trittbewegungen hervorgerufene Fachbildung. Schließlich beginnt er ein handbreites Baumwollband zu weben, indem er mit dem im Schiffchen liegenden Querfaden die Fächer durchschießt.
The film shows the construction of a portable treadle loom of the Kanembu and some work phases of the apparatus. The pictures were taken in 1954 in Bol, the administrative centre of the east bank of Lake Chad belonging of the Kanem region (Republic of Chad).
