Friedensgutachten 2020 - Im Schatten der Pandemie: letzte Chance für Europa

Abstract: The corona pandemic is currently defining politics and society. Especially in poorer regions of the world, it increases the threats to peace and security. At the same time, other risks to peace persist: climate change, the restriction of civil rights, the threat of an arms race in cyberspace, the rivalries between the Great Powers and the increase in right-wing violence. It is precisely in the face of the crisis that international cooperation - and a proactive EU to drive this cooperation forward, both within Europe and globally - is needed to secure peace. Against this background, the Peace Report 2020 analyses current violent conflicts, identifies trends in international foreign, security and development policy and makes recommendations for the Federal Government and the Bundestag. The German peace research institutes (BICC/HSF/IFSH/INEF) have been publishing the report since 1987
