Zentrische Diatomee; Kernteilung, Zellteilung und Schalenbildung. Während der Neubildung der Hypotheken wachsen die Valvenhörner in den schmalen Furchungsraum hinein und spreizen sich erst nach der Trennung der beiden Zellen nach außen. In der neugebildeten Hypotheka zieht sich der Protoplast an bestimmten Stellen von der Kieselwand zurück.
Centric Diatom: nuclear division; cell division and formation of siliceous cell walls. During the reformation of the cell wall, the valve tips grow into the small cleavage space and spread themselves outward only after the separation of the two cells. In the newly-formed cell walls the protoplasm pulls away from them in certain places.
