Wider Hans Worst
First printing of one of the most famous of Luther's polemical tracts. Luther's prince, John Frederick the Magnanimous, together with Luther, himself, had been attacked in print by Duke Henry the Younger of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel. Duke Henry was among the bitterest antagonists of Luther and his followers. "Wider Hans Worst" is Luther's satirical response to the duke.
