Advanced characterization of ionic motion effects in perovskite solar cells

Abstract: This cumulative thesis elucidates, in three peer reviewed publications, effects of ionic motion in hybrid organic inorganic lead halide perovskite solar cells. Due to its properties as a soft ionic crystal the photoactive perovskite material exhibits peculiar phenomena that are not observed in classical solar cell materials. This work especially addresses the question how ionic motion in perovskite solar cells leads to a time dependent difference in internal (e.g. Quasi-Fermi-Level splitting) and external solar cell parameters (e.g. open-circuit voltage, short-circuit current)
