Synthese und Charakterisierung von Modellkolloiden auf der Basis von PEG-stabilisiertenPoly(heptafluorobutylmethacrylat)-Partikeln undPoly(styrol-co-tert-butylmethacrylat)-Mikrogelen

Zusammenfassung: Polymer-Colloids were synthesized and characterized in order to create a new model system for light scattering experiments in aqueous media. 1H,1H-Heptafluorobutylmethacrylate was copolymerized with a PEG-macromonomer (PEGMA) in an emulsion-polymerization process. It was found, that the particle size can be controlled by the concentration of the PEG-macromonomer. Nearly all batches led to monodisperse particles with a low polydispersity as confirmed by Dynamic Light Scattering- (DLS) experiments and TEM-pictures. The dispersions were stable against high salt concentrations and freeze-thaw-cycles, so that one can conclude that the particles are sterically stabilized. TEM-, Cryo-TEM as well as Static Light Scattering- (SLS) experiments clearly show a core-shell-morphology of the particles.
