Modeling of dynamic behavior in saturated porous media using the Houbolt time integration scheme
Abstract: The following work deals with the inclusion of dynamic effects into the Theory of Porous Media (TPM) using the approach of Breuer [1] for a consolidation simulation of soil. After a rough review of the fundamental equations, a numerical boundary value problem (BVP) is shown emphasizing the importance of the choice of the time integration scheme. A drawback in the use of the Houbolt time integration scheme, regarding a change of Δt during the calculation, leads to two simple solution strategies to solve this complication.
