Kurztext: Prinz Friedrich von Preußen, Neffe von König Friedrich Wilhelm III. von Preußen (1779-1840), kam 1821 als Kommandeur der 20. Division nach Düsseldorf. Er war mit Prinzessin Wilhelmine Luise, geb. Prinzessin von Anhalt-Bernburg (1799-1882) verheiratet. Mit ihr hatte er zwei Söhne: Prinz Alexander (1820-1896) und Prinz Georg (1826-1902). Prinz Friedrich und Prinzessin Wihelmine hatten beide ein starkes kulturelles Interesse und förderten die Musik, Kunst und Theatervereine der Stadt. Ihre Residenz, Schloss Jägerhof, wurde bald zum Mittelpunkt des Düsseldorfer kulturellen Lebens.

Prince Friedrich of Prussia, nephew of King Friedrich III Wilhelm of Prussia (1779 - 1840), was the commander of the 20th Division and came to Düsseldorf in 1821. He was married to Princess Wilhelmine Luise, born Princess of Anhalt-Bernburg (1826 - 1882) and together they had two sons: Prince Alexander (1829-1896) and Prince Georg (1826-1902). Both Prince Friedrich and Princess Wilhelmine had a strong interest in the arts and became avid patrons of local music, art, and theater groups. Their residence, Schloss Jägerhof, soon was at the heart of Düsseldorf's cultural life.
