Isocyanatfreie Herstellung von kohlenhydratanalogen Polyhydroxyurethanen auf Basis von Erythritoldi- und Sorbitoltri- sowie Vinylencarbonat

Zusammenfassung: Sugar alcohols were used in polyurethane synthesis as polyols or sugar-based polyether polyols, which were cured with isocyanates. Alternatively, polyurethanes can be prepared from sugar alcohol-based cyclic carbonates, which are curable with di- or polyfunctional amines. Compared to isocyanates, cyclic carbonates are less reactive compounds which require high processing temperature and long conversion time. In this work, highly reactive carbohydrate-based carbonates were prepared and afterwards converted with di- and polyfunctional amines to new sugar alcohol-based polyhydroxyurethanes (PHU). The carbonates were successfully synthesized from sugar alcohols meso-erythritol and D-sorbitol as also from new synthetic routs based on butadiene and glycerol, which are not compete with food production. Both BDC and STC undertook in a catalyst free reaction with primary amines a complete conversion at room temperature. Due to the high reactivity of BDC reactive compounding was applied for the first time. New thermoplastic PHU with a molecular weight up to 46 kg/mol were processed in only 20 minutes. Using short and long chained diamines semi-crystalline co- and homopolymers were prepared, which had comparable properties to common isocyanate-based TPU.
