Ein älterer Mann aus Ban Alm bildet aus sieben in der Mitte geknickten Rotangstreifen die Scheide, auf die drei geflochtene Rotangringe aufgezogen werden. Die Enden der Rotangelemente, die einmal gespalten und mit Rotangstreifen umflochten werden, bilden die Öffnung der Scheide.
The sheath is formed out of seven pieces of rotang which are folded in the middle. Three plaited rotang rings are slipped on the sheath. The ends of the rotang pieces from the opening of the sheath. These are split once and a rotang strip is wound around them.
