Estudo sobre a Propagação da Cultura da Medicina Tradicional Chinesa no Brasil

Diferentes sociedades e culturas têm vários conhecimentos sobre as causas das doenças. Normalmente, as pessoas interpretam sua constituição corporal e respondem a fenômenos clínicos com base em conceitos, símbolos e protocolos de diagnóstico que acumularam e internalizaram por meio de suas experiências sociais e culturais. As representações sociais da saúde e da doença estão associadas a percepções da vida e da sociedade em diferentes culturas, o que poderia explicar a reação da sociedade brasileira ao novo conceito de tratamento proporcionado pela cultura da Medicina Tradicional Chinesa (MTC). A globalização tem aprofundado o grau de trocas culturais entre países e novos hábitos chineses ganharam crescente influência no Brasil. Após décadas de assimilação e adoção, a MTC no Brasil evoluiu para um estágio, a nível técnico e cultural, relativamente maduro.
Abstract: Different societies and cultures have various knowledge about the causes of diseases. Normally, people interpret their bodily constitution and respond to clinical phenomena on the basis of concepts, symbols and diagnostic protocols that they have accumulated and internalized through their social and cultural experiences. Social representations of health and disease are associated with perceptions of life and society in different cultures, which could explain the receptivity of Brazilian society to the new concept of treatment provided by the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) culture. Globalization has deepened the degree of cultural exchange between countries, and new Chinese habits have gained increasing influence in Brazil. After decades of assimilation and adoption, TCM in Brazil has evolved to a relatively mature stage, both technically and culturally.
