Bibliotheken und die Umsetzung der UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development

Mit der Agenda 2030 und den darin postulierten Nachhaltigkeitsziele stellen die Vereinten Nationen eine Vision dar, wie die Welt im Jahr 2030 aussehen soll. Auch der Bibliotheks-Weltverband IFLA und die UNESCO waren an der Entwicklung der Agenda beteiligt und konnten die für sie wichtigsten Punkte durchsetzen. Bei der Umsetzung dieser Ziele spielen Bibliotheken eine wichtige Rolle, wie zahlreiche Projekte im In- und Ausland zeigen. Jedoch sind sie nur ein Puzzlestück des großen Ganzen, um die Ziele der Agenda 2030 auch nur annähernd zu erreichen.
Abstract: The Agenda 2030 and the proclaimed sustainability targets represent the United Nations’ vision of the state of the world in the year 2030. The global library association IFLA and the UNESCO significantly contributed to the agenda’s development and were able to incorporate their topics of relevance in the agenda. Libraries play a key role in the implementation of these targets, as numerous national and international projects have shown. They are, however, just one puzzle piece in the whole picture to come closer to achieving the goals.
