Organisation und Bewegungsweisen der Arcturidae (Isopoda)
Arcturiden klammern sich mit Pereopoden der Pereomeren 5-7 an das Substrat. Die Pereomeren 2-4 tragen lang bedornte Pereopoden, die als Filterkorb ausgebreitet werden können und Partikel auffangen. Das erste Pereomer ist mit dem Cephalothorax verwachsen und trägt ein Paar Putzbeine, das Nahrungspartikel aus dem Filterkorb auskämmt und den Maxillopeden zuführt. Die von den Uropoden verdeckten Extremitäten des Pleotelsons dienen der Atmung und - selten - dem Schwimmen.
