U-vaḥarti ba-ḥayim : sipuro shel śored

Relates the life story, written in the first person, of Moses Aron (Monik) Schwarz, born in 1924 in Piotrków, Poland. Pp. 27-80 describe his experiences in the Holocaust. In 1940 he was interned in the ghetto with his family. He, his father, and his two brothers worked at a factory in nearby Bugaj, which later became a labor camp. In October 1942 his mother and her infant son, who was born in the ghetto, were deported and killed. In fall 1944 he, his father, and one brother were sent to the Warta labor camp and then to Buchenwald and Nordhausen. In early 1945 Schwarz was sent to Mittelbau-Dora and then to Bergen-Belsen, where he was liberated. His father perished during a transport, but his two brothers survived. After the war he returned to Piotrków and was attacked by Poles; in 1948 he emigrated to Denmark. (From the Bibliography of the Vidal Sassoon International Center for the Study of Antisemitism)
