Reproductive Behaviour of the Ixodes Tick
Reproduction in Ixodes tick is characterized by the indirect transfer of the spermatophore and the use of the erectile Gené organ in oviposition. Anchoring the hypostome in the female sexual opening. Transfer of the spermatophore. Beginning of egg-laying (oviposition) including the shearing action of the palpi and stroking movement of the Gené organ. With enlargements and time lapse.
