Drei Spielleute tragen in Katmandu ein Erzähllied vor und singen abwechselnd dazu. Ein 13jähriger Junge improvisiert einen Tanz.
Three members of the Gaine caste perform a narrative song accompanied by the violin sarangi. The melody is also played, with occasional slight variations, on one of the three violins, the two other musicians accompany it with pizzicato and col legno. A fourth Gaine improvises a solo dance composed of traditional stereotyped movements.
