Ein Mann baut in Katmandu eine viersaitige Geige: Herstellen von Wirbelkasten, Hals und Korpus aus einem Stück Holz, Aufkleben von Fell auf den Unterbügel, Brennen von Saitenlöchern mit glühendem Eisen, Aufziehen der ersten Saite, Ausprobieren.
The violin is roughly cut and carved out of a piece of timber, so that body, neck and peg-box are made in one piece. A skin is sticked in a wet condition on the lower rib and left to dry. The holes for inserting the pegs tightening the four strings into the peg-box as well as the hole for attaching the string to the bow are applied with a hot iron. The first string is put on the violin and tried with the bow.
