COVID-19 und soziale Ungleichheit

Mit Fortschreiten der Pandemie stellt sich heraus, dass nicht alle Personengruppen gleich von dem Virus betroffen sind. Soziale Ungleichheiten sind sowohl bei dem Infektionsrisiko, der Erkrankungsschwere und den Mortalitätsraten als auch bei den Folgen der Maßnahmen zur Pandemiebekämpfung ersichtlich. Dabei haben sich sozioökonomische Faktoren sowie Alter und Geschlecht als relevant herausgestellt.
Abstract: The coronavirus was initially considered “the great leveler”. However, as the pandemic progresses, it is becoming apparent that not everyone is affected by the virus in the same way. Social inequalities are evident in the risk of infection, the severity of the disease, mortality rates, and in the consequences of the measures taken to prevent further spreading of the pandemic. Socio-economic factors as well as age and gender have proven to be relevant.
