Recategorização do referente “Estátua do Cristo Redentor” em textos multimodais: um exercício de análise

This paper aims at doing a preliminary study of the recategorization in the process of referentation of the referent Cristo Redentor Statue, based on the analysis of three images taken from websites. We will use as theoretical framework the concepts postulated by Custódio Filho (2011), Bentes (2008), Cavalvante (2005), Dionísio (2011), Koch (2003, 2006), among others. In this study, we will follow what postulates Lima (2003, 2009, 2011), for whom the recategorization is a process understood in a cognitive and discourse dimension, so that allows its conception to be understood to the level of structures and cognitive functioning. We note that, due to be understanding of each materialized regarding the images, it is necessary to have, in advance, any knowledge concerning the situation in which it is inserted in order to recategorize the object of discourse in question.
