Für eine emanzipatorische Perspektive politischer Bildung. Im Gespräch mit Ulrich Brand über die Transformation zur solidarischen Lebensweise

Abstract: Gegenwärtige Gesellschaftsdiagnosen fallen gemeinhin dystopisch aus: Corona, Klima und Krieg verweisen auf Krisen und Katastrophen globalen Ausmaßes. Im ausführlichen Interview mit der Bildungswissenschaftlerin Simone Müller argumentiert der Politikwissenschaftler Ulrich Brand, dass diese Krisen in Zusammenhang stehen mit einer imperialen Lebensweise. Diese beinhaltet erdumspannende Verhältnisse der Ausbeutung und Ungleichheit. Ihr wäre eine solidarische Lebensweise gegenüberzustellen, die es individuell und gesellschaftlich zu erlernen sowie politisch zu fördern und abzusichern gilt. Die solidarische Lebensweise eröffnet eine Zukunftsperspektive, die sich an einem zentralen Topos der politischen Bildung orientiert: der Emanzipation. Damit uns die Verhältnisse also nicht überrollen, sondern als gestaltbar erlebt werden können, müssen Lernräume und -orte geschaffen werden, in denen selbstständiges Denken und Gesellschaftskritik möglich sind. Abstract: Contemporary diagnoses of society generally turn out to be dystopian: Coronavirus, climate and war point to crises and catastrophes on a global scale. In a detailed interview with educational scientist Simone Müller, political scientist Ulrich Brand argues that these crises are related to an imperial way of life involving relationships of exploitation and inequality that span the globe. This is to be contrasted with a way of life based on solidarity that must be learned individually and socioeconomically as well as promoted and safeguarded politically. This way of life opens up a perspective for the future that is oriented to a topos central to political education: emancipation. So that circumstances do not defeat us but may be experienced as malleable, learning spaces and places must be created in which independent thought and social criticism are possible.
