Im Dorf Sinyea stellt die Flechterin Noai ein zum Krabbenfischen benötigtes Netz her: Abstreifen der Fiedern von Ölpalmwedeln, Verzwirnen zu Schnüren, Herstellen des Netzes mit Hilfe einer Einlage aus Rotan in Maschenstofftechnik. Abschließend wird der Netzrand mit einem Reifen verstärkt.
Shows the production of a small hand net used for fishing for crabs in standing, shallow water. A woman gathers oil palm leaves and strips them of the leaf material so that only the stems remain. These stems are made into a durable cord which is then braided into a fishing net.
