Netta rufina (Anatidae) - Fütterung im Paarverhalten

Kolbenente. Das Männchen taucht und bringt Pflanzenteile mit an die Oberfläche. Das Weibchen beschnäbelt die Pflanzenteile und gründelt zum Stimulieren des Männchens.
The "ceremonial feeding" belonging to the mating behaviour of the duck Netta rufina is shown in three settings. The drake dives untiringly for parts of plants from the bottom of the pond, which the female swimming above examines with her beak for edible things and then lets sink again. The drake's diving activities are intensified by the occasinal "provocative" dipping of the duck. The duck, who eagerly dives during the remaining part of the year and especially during the rearing of the young, remains on the surface during the mating feeding.
