Cervical Varix Associated with Placenta Previa: A Case Report

Uterine cervical varix is a rare finding during pregnancy, and it can cause significant bleeding during pregnancy. We present here a case report of cervical varix coexisting with placenta previa. In this case report, we describe the clinical course, diagnosis, and follow-up of a 33-year-old woman at 31 weeks of gestation with placenta previa complicated by cervical varix, when she presented for the first time with antepartum hemorrhage. Speculum examination, followed by transvaginal ultrasonography with color Doppler, confirmed the diagnosis of huge cervical varices. A healthy baby was successfully delivered at 36 weeks of gestation by cesarean section. Clinicians should be aware of this entity, to avoid misdiagnosis and be vigilant to prevent maternal morbidity.
