Buntbarsch. Letzte Balzbewegungen der Geschlechtspartner, Besambewegungen des Männchens, länger werdende Ablaichbewegungen des Weibchens, Ablegen der Eier in eine Laichgrube, sofortiges Besamen der Eier. Nach Ende des gesamten Laichaktes Aufnahme des Geleges ins Maul. Beide Eltern übernehmen Brutpflege (im Film nur das Männchen).
The film shows the spawning behaviour of a pair of Tilapia multifasciata kept in isolation. The eggs are laid in a shallow spawning hollow by the female and then fertilized by the male. Sometimes it happens that the parents take the eggs in their mouths before all aggs are laid; however, in most observed cases they do so only after all eggs have been laid - this is also the case with the couple filmed.
