Männer bewirtschaften das Gartenland unterhalb von Malingdam wieder, das mehrere Jahre zum Regenerieren brachgelegen hat: Niederschlagen der Sekundärvegetation, Terrassieren mit Grabstock (Hochbeetbau), Pflanzen von Stecklingen, Errichten eines Zaunes. Nach 22 Arbeitstagen ist die Arbeit abgeschlossen.
After several years of fallow the garden area below Malingdam is cultivated again. After chopping down the secondary vegetation, the slope is terraced with the digging stick and with the hands. The beds are planted with sweet potato cuttings and taro sprouts. The work is done individually: every man prepares and cultivates "his" plot of ground owned by the community.
