Axisymmetric two‐phase flow simulations on space‐time meshes
Abstract: For reducing the dimensionality and consequently, the complexity of the dynamics related to bubble formation problems, this paper presents an axisymmetric space‐time interface capturing approach [1, 2]. For the description of the moving front, the level‐set method is used, because it is inherently able to account for topological changes of the interface [3], and is combined with a continuum surface force (CSF) model. Different benchmark cases from the literature are used for verifying our numerical approach, and the results are compared with those obtained using the commercial software, ANSYS CFX.
