Decomposing the effective radiative forcing of anthropogenic aerosols based on CMIP6 Earth system models

Abstract ERF ARI ERF ACI ERF ALB ERF ARI ERF ACI ERF ALB - ± W m - 2, mostly due to the large contribution of ERF ACI - ± W m - 2 and dominating contributions from ERF ACI ERF ACI ERF ALB ERF ARI ERF ACI ERF ARI ERF ACI SO 2 - ± W m - 2, and the OC ERF (piClim-OC) is - ± W m - 2, while the ERF due to BC (piClim-BC) is 0.19 ± W m - 2. For sulfates and OC perturbation experiments, ERF ACI ERF ARI ERF ACI ERF ARI ERF ALB for driving the total ERF temporal evolution. Moreover, since the mid-1980s, total ERF has become less negative over eastern North America and western and central Europe, while over eastern and southern Asia there is a steady increase in ERF magnitude towards more negative values until 2014.
