Deutsch Landstadt und ehemalige Residenz der Grafenlinie von Hohenlohe-Waldenburg. Umfangreicher Ausbau der Stadtbefestigung (romanisch gegründet) im 15. Jh, mit zusätzlichen Geschütztürmen für Feuerwaffen. Gute Teile restauriert erhalten; auch heute noch sind die abgestuften „Verteidigungsriegel“ der Stadt beeindruckend. Hervorzuheben ist natürlich auch das schöne Gesamtbild der malerisch auf einem Bergrücken gelegenen Stadt. Innenstadt mit barocker Manier vorherrschend, die Ausführung der Gebäude in Fachwerk und Werkstein. Schloß der Grafen noch von diesen bewohnt. English Sited on top of a long stretched hill spin, the town is an eye-catcher and dominates the surrounding „Hohenloher Land“, as its former masters the counts of Hohenlohe-Waldenburg, really did. Even today, a part of this family residences in the castle at the North end of the town. The town fortifications , founded in the Romanesque period, were upgraded in the late Gothic within the end of the 15th century with gun-towers and bastions, while fire arms had become a serious thread in warfare. The inner town shows houses from out the Renaissance and Baroque periods, made of half-timer and stone art both. The church was rebuild within the Renaissance period completely. Foreseen from the breathtaking view from the town “down” to the Hohenloher Land in circumsference, also the castle at the Northern end is worth a visit too. By the way – at the South of the town, just outside, there is a former justice place rebuild.
