Zusammenfassung: In diesem Aufsatz wird die These der Verzeitlichung der Kulturreflexion um die Wende zwischen dem achtzehnten und neunzehnten Jahrhundert anhand des Werks seines einflussreichsten Vertreters, Reinhart Koselleck, erörtert. In einem zweiten Schritt kommen seine Kritiker zu Wort. Schließlich wird gefragt, welche Bedeutung der Begriff für unsere Selbstbestimmung in der Gegenwart spielen könnte
Zusammenfassung: This article considers the theorem of the 'temporalisation' of cultural self-reflexion (taking place at the turn from the eighteenth to the nineteenth century) by way of an interpretation of the work of one of its most influential proponents, Reinhart Koselleck. The second part outlines the major lines of criticism that have been formulated against it. Finally, the question is posed what role the concept still might play in current debates about the character of the present age
