Der Ringelwurm Platynereis dumerilii (Annelida, Polychaeta) lebt an den Küsten West- und Südeuropas. Ausgewachsene Tiere erreichen im Labor 3 - 4cm Länge und durchschnittlich 7 Monate Alter. Platynereis kann langfristig im Labor gezüchtet werden und hat deswegen wissenschaftliche Bedeutung als Muster für einen Polychaeten erlangt (www.platynereis.de). The annelid Platynereis dumerilii (Polychaeta) lives at the coasts of Western and Southern Europe. In culture, full-grown specimens are 3 - 4cm long and have a lifespan of 7 months in average. Platynereis dumerilii can be permanently bred in the laboratory. This is the reason why this species has become a relevant experimental animal (www.platynereis.de). The DVD gives a comprehensive introduction of the annelid in 34 short sequences.
