Eine der Urpfarreien des Bistums Würzburg, im Jahr 748 erwähnt. Kirche in gotischer Zeit erneuert und unter Fürstbischof Julius Echten um 1600 im Rahmen der Gegenreformation („Re-Katholisierung“) überarbeitet. Durch die Erweiterung des Langhauses in den Jahren 1907-08 Umgestaltung der Kirche. Wehrgang der Kirchhofmauer sowie Teile derselben nach Aufgabe des Kirchhofes als Begräbnisplatz abgetragen. One of the founding parishes of the bishopric of Würzburg, documented first in 748. The church itself was rebuild in Gothic times, and renewed by Prince Bishop Julius Echter during his “Counter-Reformation” (Re-Katholization) around 1600. Mandatory changes took place in the years 1907-08, when the nave was enlarged and the battlement of the curtain, although as parts of the curtain itself were removed, after the cemetery had lost its primary function.
