Kurztext: Emilie Preyer, geborene Lachenwitz, war die Frau des Malers Johann Wilhelm Preyer (1803-1889). Ihre gemeinsame Tochter Emilie (1849-1930) wurde neben ihrem Vater eine der bekanntesten Stillleben-Malerinnen im 19. Jahrhundert. Nach der Ausbildung durch ihren Vater besuchte sie als inoffizielle Studentin die Düsseldorfer Königliche Kunstakademie zu Düsseldorf, zu der Frauen damals nicht zugelassen waren.

Emilie Preyer, née Lachenwitz, was the wife of the painter Johann Wilhelm Preyer (1803-1889). Their daughter Emilie (1849-1940) became one of the most renowned 19th-century painters of still life. Having been trained by her father, she was an unofficial student of the Royal Art Academy in Düsseldorf, as women were not entitied with the academy at this time.
