Buntbarsch. Ein ablaichbereites Weibchen dringt wiederholt in das Territorium des sehr aggressiven Männchens ein, das anfänglich das Weibchen vertreibt. Allmählich entwickelt sich eine Bindung an den Geschlechtspartner.
A female of the substrate brooding Cichlid Tiapia tholloni - ready to spawn - keeps attempting to enter the territory of the male which in the beginning rather aggressively drives the female away. Gradually a pair bond between the partners is established. Soon both of them are digging their pit and defending their territory.
