Kirchturm im Süden-Erdgeschoss-Zwei Wappenschilde mit Jahr 1519 (Neubau des Kirchturms) am Erdgeschoss unter Gesims-rechter Wappenschild Würzburger Fürstbischof Lorenz von Bibra

Architektur

Gegründet in Frühromanischer Zeit im 11-12. Jh (Urpfarrei). Unter der Herrschaft des Fürstbistums Würzburg wurde die Kirche im Jahre 1519 unter Fürstbischof Lorenz von Bibra renoviert, der Kirchturm völlig neu erbaut; unter Fürstbischof Julius Echter (im Rahmen der Gegenreformation oder „Re-Katholisierung“) wurde die Kirche wiederum überarbeitet. Das Langhaus wurde 1777 neu erbaut, in Nordost-Südwest Ausrichtung. Nach Aufgabe des Kirchhofes als Begräbnisplatz wurde der Wehrgang der Kirchhofmauer wie auch Teile derselben im 19. Jh. abgetragen. Founded in the early Romanesque time of the 10-11th century, (one of the earliest parish). Under the possession of the Prince Bishopric of Würzburg, Lorenz of Bibra ordered an overwork of the church in 1519, whereby the church tower was completely rebuild. Again an overwork took place by Prince Bishop Julius Echter, when he was running his program of the “Counter-Reformation” (also known as “Re-Katholization”). The nave was rebuild in the 1777 then, remarkably in Northeast-Southwest direction, when a general renovation took place. After the cemetery had lost its primary function in the 19th century, the battlement of the curtain was completely removed, and also parts of the latter itself.
