Software-Entwicklung und Community-Kultivierung: ein integrativer Ansatz (Software-Development and Community-Cultivation: an Integrative Approach)

Der Beitrag zeigt in einem integrativen Ansatz, welche technischen Entwicklungen zur sozialen Kultivierung einer Internet-unterstützten Community sinnvoll und notwendig sind. Anhand einer Fallstudie (Inpud-Community) wird einerseits die technische Entwicklung und andererseits die Bildung, Unterstützung und Förderung (Kultivierung) der sozialen Struktur beschrieben (soziotechnische Kultivierung). Wir möchten zeigen, dass klassische Software-Entwicklungs-Methoden für die Entwicklung von technischen Systemen zur Unterstützung der Community-Kultivierung durch die Berücksichtung von Lebensphasen-Modellen sinnvoll erweitert werden können. Dazu schlagen wir einen integrativen Ansatz vor, welcher die technische Entwicklung unter gleichzeitiger Berücksichtigung der Entwicklung des sozialen Systems unterstützt. Der Beitrag möchte damit eine Diskussion zur Vorgehensweise bei der Software-Entwicklung im Kontext einer soziotechnischen Community-Kultivierung anstoßen.
Both technical and social system development are necessary and meaningful for cultivating a web-based community. On the basis of a case study (Inpud community), our contribution describes the technical development as well as the creation, support und fostering of social structures (sociotechnical cultivation). We point out that classical methods of software development, which are usually employed in creating technical systems, can help support the cultivation of a community. For that, one has to supplement the classical methods of software development with methods for community development (stages of maturation). Therefore we present an integrative approach that supports technical development and simultaneously takes into account the development of social systems. With this paper we would like to stimulate a discussion of the software development processes in context with a sociotechnical community cultivation.
