In der für die Filmaufnahme bestellten Aufführung spielen vier Musiker. Gendang keteng-keteng heißt die Besetzung der zeremoniellen Gendang-Musik der Karo-Batak. Sie besteht aus zwei Röhrenzithern Keteng-keteng aus Bambus mit zwei aus der Haut herausgeschälten Saiten, die mit zwei dünnen Stöckchen angeschlagen werden, sowie einer Porzellanschale oder ähnlichem als Gongersatz. Als Melodieinstrument kommt noch eine Flöte oder die Laute Kulcapi hinzu, hier die offene Längsflöte Surdam. Mari-mari (Komm herbei!) wird bei altreligiösen Zeremonien zur Geisteranrufung bei Besessenheitstänzen gespielt.
Four musicians play in the performance booked for the film take. The instrumentation of the ceremonial Gedang music of the Karo-Batak is called Gedang keteng-keteng. It consists of two tube zithers (Keteng-ketend) made of bamboo with two strings peeled out of the skin, which are beaten with two thin sticks, as well as a porcelain dish or something similar as a replacement for a gong. A flute or the Kulcapi lute is added as melody instrument. In this case the open Surdam long flute. The first piece "Mari-mari" (Come over here!) is played in old religious ceremonies to call the ghosts in possession dances.
