Power plants with coal gasification.
At present, lignite and black coal power plants provide about half of the electricity in Germany. The other half comprises nuclear power plants (approx. 30%) and power plants based on natural gas and renewable energy sources. Large power plants based on coal will continue to be necessary in the energy mix for the foreseeable future.
